Splash pad decision is on the agenda for the City Council of Webster City

The decision on the East Twin Park splash pad is expected to be made this evening when the City Council of Webster City meets in the council chambers of City Hall, 400 Second Street, Webster City.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m.

The public hearing that would lead to contracting for the construction of the splash pad should be followed by a vote.

Peterson Construction, of Webster City, has submitted the low project bid at $279,617.67.

The four other bids received are from Concrete Connection, $320,957, Johnston; Caliber Concrete, LLC, Adair, $415,760.08; Jensen Builders Ltd., Fort Dodge, $577,476; and Woodruff Construction, Fort Dodge, $575,309.73.

City staff recommend awarding the contract to Peterson Construction.

In addition to bids, the city is also in receipt of a petition opposing the construction of the splash pad. It is signed by 79 individuals.
