The Fair Meadow Drive Reconstruction Project begins Monday, April 15th
The first road closure will be installed. It will detour traffic around the north side of the Des Moines Street and Fair Meadow Drive intersection (click for map) to allow contractors to remove concrete and replace the water main.
This detour will remain in effect for roughly two weeks, weather-dependent.
Once the water infrastructure is replaced, the street will be poured back and open to traffic.
We'll share updates as they become available on our Facebook page. You can also sign up to receive messages directly from the City.
The City of Webster City has an inventory of more than 1,500 traffic signs. These include regulatory, warning, and informational signs. All signage throughout Webster City follows the Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The MUTCD is a document issued by the Federal Highway Administration and specifies the standards by which all traffic signs are designed, installed and used. This manual contains placement standards, application, colors, font size, and guidance for all traffic control devices, such as signs.
Street Department Staff is responsible for ordering, installing and maintaining all signs within the City limits. Records are kept to know the type of sign, GPS location, installation date, maintenance date, and photo of each sign.
To report a damaged or knocked down sign/sign post, please call the Webster City Street Department at 515-832-9123. Stop signs that are damage or knocked down are considered urgent and require an emergency response. If you see this, please call the Webster City dispatch office at 515-832-9166.
