Council to authorize separation agreement with Sheridan

December 14, 2020

A separation agreement between the City of Webster City and City Manager Jeffrey Sheridan is on the agenda for a special meeting of the council Monday night.

The council will meet via the Zoom conferencing platform and the public can listen in to the meeting by logging onto Zoom using the meeting code 885 8277 7268 beginning at 6 p.m.

The council is also expected to pass a resolution adopting a policy on guidance for city staff working with the city council. There will also be a discussion on an interim city manager.

D. Jeffrey Sheridan was hired by the city in July 2019, following a long search to find a replacement city manager when Daniel Ortiz Hernandez resigned to take a position in California.

Sheridan was serving as the town manager for the town of Lowell, Indiana when he was hired for the Webster City position. Sheridan has more than 25 years of experience in local government.

The council met in closed session on Dec. 7 for about 2 1/2 hours to evaluate Sheridan’s performance. They took no action on the evaluation when they returned to open session.
