City of Webster City issues boil advisory

August 21, 2019

On August 20, 2019, late afternoon, a contractor working on a City waterline failed to properly secure it such that the system experienced a brief drop in pressure. After consulting with City staff, it was decided to err on the side of caution and we issued a boil advisory for the small area on the east side of town possibly affected by the drop in pressure. The area affected is the Fairgrounds addition, High Street and East Second to past Mary Ann’s Speciality Foods and Webster City Custom Meats.

This will remain in effect until testing results are received which is expected sometime tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
