Webster Theater

The Webster Theater features family-friendly prices and state-of-the-art digital projection and sound on north Iowa’s biggest screen.

The theater was built in 1906 and in the 1920’s, the Orpheum was remodeled and renamed the Granada Theater. Then in 1939, it became The Webster and the marquee was added. Around 1988, Fridley Theatres purchased the Webster Theater and it was operated until the mid-2000s, when it was taken over by the BigTime Cinema chain. The last showing was on March 7, 2013, and the theater closed its doors on March 8, 2013.

The reopening of the theater is a result of the group of volunteers coming together to save a piece of Webster City’s history. Help Entertain & Restore Organization, Inc. (HERO) is a non-profit corporation formed to renovate and re-open a cornerstone of Webster City’s downtown life, The Webster Theater.

The Webster Theater is open Tuesday – Sunday with the following show times:

Wednesday – 7 pm
Thursday – 1 pm, 7 pm
