The City of Webster City is offering grant funds for the purpose of increasing tourism, enhancing the quality of life for residents of Webster City and to increase the population of the City.
Each year the City of Webster City collects a seven percent room tax on overnight stays at hotels and motels in the community. The funds are then redistributed towards parks and recreation improvement projects, the Chamber of Commerce and a Hotel/Motel Grant Program.
The Hotel/Motel Grant Program awards grants to projects that increase tourism, enhance the quality of life for residents of Webster City and increase the population. A board consisting of five City Council appointed members comprised of one member from city government, one member from the business community and three members from the community at-large review the application and make recommendations to the City Council for award.
The City of Webster City 2022 Hotel Motel Grant Cycle is set to open on April 11, 2022. Anyone interested in applying for the grant should plan to attend a mandatory training on April 26, 2022 in the Council Chambers at 6:00 p.m. Interested parties can find more information on the City website: www.webstercity.com or email Biridiana Bishop at bibishop@webstercity.com for more information.
