The Webster City Community Theatre (WCCT) was organized in 1968 and was a vagabond troupe until 1992 when it founds its home at 1001 Willson Avenue. The former church was converted into and auditorium, lobby/box office, dressing rooms/makeup area, storage areas for costumes, props, and set pieces, and social hall with full kitchen.
In 2014, new seats were installed in the auditorium and a 6,000 sq ft addition was completed that included a larger backstage, dressing rooms, a makeup area, workshop space, green room, and storage for costumes, lumber and set pieces.
WCCT brings four productions to its main stage each season, offering a mix of comedies, musicals, children’s shows and dramas.
In the summer, the theatre hosts a workshop for kids led by professionals from the Old Creamery Theatre in Amana.
WCCT is a proud member of the Iowa Community Theatre Association and the American Association of the Community Theatres and participates in state
conventions as well as state, regional, and national festivals.
The auditorium and social room are available for use by the community for
meetings, reunions, receptions, recitals and similar events.
WCCT offers an endowment scholarship to area graduates with deadline applications due by May 1.
