Charges
Utility Bill Charges Consist of:

  • Electric
  • Water
  • Sewer
  • Recycling
  • Landfill
  • Miscellaneous Fees (i.e. taxes and penalties)
Billing Process

Customers receive utility bills every month. The city is divided into two sections.

  • Cycle 1 is billed on the 15th of the month and is due the following month on the 10th.
  • Cycle 2 is billed on the 25th of the month and is due the following month on the 20th.

If these dates fall on a weekend, the billing or due date will roll back to Friday, if it falls on Saturday. It will roll to Monday, if the date falls on Sunday.

While the account is in their name, customers are responsible for all billings.

Payments

Utility bill payments can be made as follows:

  • By mail: City of Webster City, PO Box 217, Webster City 50595 (allow at least 3 days for delivery)
  • At the Utility Department counter inside City Hall.
  • At the Drop Box located in the driveway to the west of City Hall – between City Hall and City Hall Plaza.
  • Automatic clearing house payment (ACH) – payments are automatically deducted from the customer’s checking account on the due date. A form will need to be signed and a voided Check to be filled out at Utility Office for this service.
  • Phone – call 515-832-9141 to pay over the phone.

Sewer Rates

Monthly Base Rate:
Residential customers and commercial users under 25 units/Mo: $25.50
Small Commercial users (25 to 49 units/Mo): $35.70
Medium Commercial users (50 to 199 units/Mo): $70.13
Large Commercial users (200 or more units/Mo): $280.50

Volume: $4.79 per 100 cubic feet of water usage

For major industrial users that monitor the flow and concentration of constituents discharged to the sanitary sewer system the rates shall be as indicated below.

Monthly Base Rate: $585.23

Volume: $0.99 per 100 cubic feet
CBOD: $0.71 per pound of CBOD
TSS: $0.43 per pound of TSS
TKN: $5.81 per pound of TKN
Oil & Grease: $0.47 per pound of oil and grease
