Youth Programs

It is the philosophy of the Webster City Recreation and Public Grounds Department to provide youth with the opportunity to participate in a learning environment where fundamentals and sportsmanship are stressed and an overall positive experience is achieved. Although these programs may involve competition, winning and losing are secondary to children learning the sport. Enjoyment of participation and sportsmanship is the main focus.

2024 Youth Sports Programs

Youth Track

Who:
2nd – 6th grade students

Registration: Monday, April 8th – Friday, April 26th

First Practice: Monday, April 29th from 5:30 – 7:00 PM – Practices will be held every Monday and Thursday

Track Meet: Thursday, May 30th at 4:30 pm

All practices and Meet to be held at the Webster City High School Track

Fee:
$32.50/Resident and $37 (Non-Resident)

Youth Tennis
The recreation staff will teach the basic fundamentals and skills of the game. Scoring and match play will also be included. Participants need to bring their own racquets. Tennis program will be held at the Webster City High School tennis courts.

Who:
2nd – 6th grade students

Registration: Starts Monday, May 6th and ends Friday, July 5th

Practices/Games Begin:
Monday, July 15th – Friday, July 26th (2 weeks)
9 – 10 AM – 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades
10 – 11 AM – 5th & 6th grades

Fee:
$32/Resident and $36 (Non-Resident)

Girls Pee Wee Softball

Girls Pee Wee Softball is designed to promote participation in softball. Children will learn the fundamentals of throwing, catching and hitting the softball.

Who:
Kindergarten – 3rd grade students

Registration: Monday, May 6 – Friday, May 24th

First Practices:
Wednesday, June 5th (K & 1st); Thursday, June 6th (2nd & 3rd)

First Games:
Kindergarten – 6:30 – 7:30 PM (Monday & Wednesday)
1st Grade – 7:30 – 8:30 PM (Monday & Wednesday)
2nd Grade – 6:30 – 7:30 PM (Tuesday & Thursday)
3rd Grade – 7:30 – 8:30 PM (Tuesday* & Thursday)

NOTE: Last games will be held on Wednesday, July 10th and Thursday July 11th

All games to be played at Nokomis Park Ball Fields

$32.50 for Resident /$37.00 for Non-Resident

Boys Pee Wee Baseball

Boys Pee Wee baseball is designed to promote participation in baseball. Children will learn the fundamentals of throwing, catching and hitting the baseball.

First Games: Tuesday, September 10th – 4:15 and 5:30 PM

All practices and games to be held at Pleasant View Elementary

Last game will be held on Tuesday, October 15th

Fee:
$37.50 for Residents/$43.00 for Non-Residents

Youth Volleyball

Who:
3rd & 4th grades students; 5th & 6th grade students

Registration: Monday, August 12th – Friday, September 6th

First Practices: Saturday, September 14th and Saturday, September 21st
3rd & 4th Grades – 9 – 10:30 AM
5th & 6th Grades – 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM

First Games: Saturday September 28th
3rd & 4th Grades – 9 – 10 AM
5th & 6th Grades – 11 AM – 12 PM

All practices and games to be held at Jefferson Gym 

Last game to be held on Saturday, October 19th
