City Council of Webster City will meet this evening

The City Council of Webster City will meet this evening in the council chambers at City Hall, 400 Second Street, Webster City.

This meeting begins at 6 p.m.

Shortly after the meeting begins, the council will hold a public hearing regarding the purchase of a 15 kV Indoor Metalclad Switchgear needed for the Reisner Substation. The council is expected to offer the succeeding contract to Harold K. Scholz Company of Ralston, Nebraska, its bid being $439,500.

Also on the agenda is the expectation that the council will accept the completion for the 2021 City Hall Basement and Floor Reconstruction Project and issue the final payments.

The council may also resolve to have the Community Development director to find a low bidder to demolish property that has been deemed unsafe at 614 First Street, Webster City. The City of Webster City acquired the property in November 2023, according to the council packet that accompanies the meeting agenda. Sealed bids will be accepted until 9 a.m. on July 26, 2024, and will be opened at 9:05 a.m. on the same day.

City staff is seeking to demolish the home in hopes to redevelop the lot.

There are also expected to be two appointments to the executive committee of the Countywide Economic Development Organization and for two members to serve on the newly formed Wilson Brewer Park Foundation Board.
