The City Council of Webster City made a number of appointments to the City’s commissions, boards and committees at its meeting Monday evening.
Board and commission members volunteer their time, talent and experience on matters concerning city planning, policy and operation. Their recommendations are then advanced directly to the City Council of Webster City for further consideration and action.
There are presently 14 standing commissions, boards and committees working in various areas of specialization within Webster City. Five of them were the beneficiaries of new appointees at Monday’s Council meeting, including the following:
Chris Kehoe was appointed to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee for a four-year term beginning June 1, 2024, and ending May 31, 2028.
Maggie Breitenkamp and Lynn Jaycox were appointed to two open seats on the City Planning & Zoning Commission for a four-year term beginning June 1, 2024, and ending May 31, 2028.
John Marvel was appointed to the Hotel-Motel Tax Board to complete an unexpired term beginning June 1, 2024, and ending May 31, 2027.
Kyle Kain was appointed as a member of the Traffic Study Committee for a four-year term beginning June 1, 2024, and ending May 31, 2024.
Monica Haberman was appointed as a member of the Zoning Board of Adjustments for a five-year term beginning June 1, 2024, and ending May 31, 2029.
Any resident of Webster City interested in serving as a member of one of the city’s commissions, boards or committees may download an application from the city’s website or pick up one in person at City Hall, downtown at 400 Second Street, Webster City.
Anytime is a good time to apply for a seat as appointments are made as terms expire.
