Last night just after 9 PM, Webster City Fire Department (WCFD) responded to a building fire on 1112 Third St. Upon arrival, E33 found smoke and fire showing coming from a two-story residential structure. E33 began an offensive fire attack. At the same time, a search team was deployed to ensure the structure was vacant.
A report was given that the resident may have gone back into the structure, but a primary and secondary search was conducted and no victim was found. The fire was quickly put under control and WCFD began overhauling the scene for hot spots.
There was major damage to the home from both fire and smoke. The resident was later located at the scene, and no injuries were noted. WCFD Investigators began their process of trying to find the fire’s origin and cause. The origin appeared to be in the living room, but cause was found to be undetermined due to the extent of the fire damage. All units went back into service. Command was terminated.
If you have further questions, please feel free to contact the Fire Department.
