Beginning on May 1, 2021, the Webster City Police Department will be enforcing all nuisance complaints within the City Limits of Webster City, previously enforced by the Inspections Department. Examples of the nuisances being enforced by the Webster City Police Department include, but are not limited to: junk and debris, junk vehicles, garbage accumulation, tall grass and weeds, snow and ice removal, as well as, parking on unapproved surfaces.
The process in which nuisances are enforced has also changed. Once a complaint has been received, it will be investigated and, if a violation is identified, the property owner will be notified of the violation(s) and given a specified amount of time to correct the issues. Failure to address the issues within the specified amount of time will result in a citation and fine. Continual violations will result in increased fines up to and including the formal filing of a Municipal Infraction through the court system.
The Webster City Police Department asks for the public’s assistance in addressing nuisances by reporting them directly to the Police Department by calling 515-832-9166.
