The City of Webster City’s Water and Waste Water Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing both the quality of drinking water being distributed to area residents and businesses as well as treating domestic and industrial wastes.

The Water Plant treats an average daily flow of 1,100,000 gallons per day which comes from three Jordan Aquifer wells which are 2,000 feet deep. The City draws water from three wells rotating their use.

The water plant runs 365 days a year an average of 10 hours per day Monday Thru Friday and 8 hours per day on the weekends and holidays.

The water plant is required to send a report to the DNR each month showing the results of tests done daily for hardness, alkalinity, Chlorine residuals, Phosphate residuals and temperature. Each year a Consumer Confidence Report is required to be published in a way that the public can see the results of the testing done during the year. This report is published in the Daily Freeman-Journal for the City of Webster City.

The City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant is designed to treat domestic and industrial wastes with a design flow of 2.3 million gallons per day. Waste Water sludge is stored for annual subsurface application on area farm ground.
