The City Council of Webster City will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday night in the council chambers and will hold a public hearing on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost for the 2020 Hot Mix Asphalt street improvement project.

The council is also expected to award the contract for the project that will resurface areas of Edgewood Drive, Lynx Avenue in front of the High School, East Second Street from the end of the concrete pavement to the corporate limits and the First Street 500 block parking lot.
Community Vitality Director Lindsay Henderson will give an update on the city’s COVID-19 forgivable loans, issued in the spring to area businesses impacted by the pandemic. The council will also consider requesting reimbursement from the Iowa COVID-19 Government Relief Fund.
The council is also expected to authorize the mayor and city clerk to enter into a letter of engagement with SmartSource Consulting of Grimes, in connection with a Community Broadband Study and Assessment in the amount of $19,500.
In another resolution, the council will be asked to authorize the mayor and city clerk to enter into three agreements with MIDAS Council of Governments to perform and assist with state revolving fund loan and Community Development Block grant applications for the City of Webster City.
A new park shelter cedar forest kit purchase will be considered for West Twin Park in the amount of $113,440 from ABCreative. Playground equipment from Boland Recreation for Nokomis Park is also on the agenda. A request from the Recreation and Public Grounds Assistant Director Breanne Lesher asks the council to approve the purchase if the bids come in under $64,900. The purchase is included in the 2020-2021 Capital Improvement budget.
The council will also hold a discussion on opening Fuller Hall for those under age 14 and the rules that will be put in place,
A request from Zach Mussman to address allowing side-by-side vehicles is also on the agenda for Monday night.
