Council fills vacancies on city boards

Thirteen appointments to Webster City boards and commissions were approved by the City Council Monday night.

Councilman Logan Welch reported that there were many applicants for the open positions, including many incumbents wishing to continue their service to the community.

Applicants appointed to board and commission seats included:

• Allison Appel, Park and Recreation Advisory Commission for four year term ending May 31, 2023;

• Zoami Calles-Rios Sosa, Park and Recreation Advisory Commission for four year term ending May 31, 2023;

• Scott Bargfrede, Airport Commission for four year term ending May 31, 2023;

• Dane Barner, Zoning Board of Adjustment for a five year term ending May 31, 2024;

• Barb Wollan, City Planning and Zoning Commission for a four year term ending May 31, 2023;

• Jill Burtnett, City Planning and Zoning Commission for a four year term ending May 31, 2023;

• Andy Sowle, Hotel/Motel Tax Board for a four year term ending May 31, 2023;

• Kyle Swon, Hotel/Motel Tax Board for a four year term ending May 31, 2023;

• Jamie Seiser, Hotel/Motel Tax Board for an unexpired term ending May 31, 2021;

• Zachery Schumacher, Hotel/Motel Tax Board for a four year term ending May 31, 2023;

• Kyle Heffernan, Traffic Study Committee for a four year term ending May 31, 2023;

• Ryan Rippentropp, Traffic Study Committee for a four year term ending May 31, 2023

• Annastacia Iverson, Youth Advisory Commission, high school, for a one year term ending June 1, 2020.

Welch also announced that the Youth Advisory Commission’s second annual Frisbee Golf Tournament had been moved to Saturday, June 22.
