The City of Webster City will be holding an informal tour of Riverside Wetland on Friday, August 3rd, at 5:00 PM. City Staff and Judith Joyce, the designer, will be on hand to answer any questions about the project. Come to learn about how this wetland feature is supporting the City’s efforts at storm water mitigation and protecting the Boone River from hazardous runoff. The event is open to the public.
The annual Boone River Clean Up will convene this coming Saturday, August 4th. Volunteers should meet at Shelter 1 located at Briggs Woods Park to register.
Parking will be available in the canoe access parking lot located next to the campground.
This year volunteers will be cleaning the 3.5 miles from Briggs Woods Park to Albright’s Canoe Access.
Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt. A limited number of canoes are available on a first come first serve basis. Feel free to bring your own canoe. An adult must accompany children under 15 years old, and parents must sign a waiver and medical information form for all youth under 18.
All volunteers must abide by IA DNR boating laws. No alcohol consumption is allowed.
